Susan Moore, L.P.N.Regional Care Coordinator | Akron, OH
Hemophilia has been a part of my life since childhood. I grew up with an older brother who had severe Factor VIII deficiency. My involvement continues as a parent to a son who is also affected by hemophilia. In addition, I have been plaqued by bleeding challenges myself, and was not diagnosed until I was in my fifties, as a person with mild hemophilia.
My volunteer experiences as Executive Secretary and Board Member in the Cleveland Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation, and as a Board Member on the Ohio Department of Health Hemophilia Advisory Committee gives me a unique perspective on the problems and solutions facing the hemophilia community. I continue to be active in the fundraising efforts of my local chapter, including participating in such activities as golf outings, the NOHF Black and Blue Ball, and the LaBelle Texas Hold 'Em events, participate in these fundraisers as a consumer, as well as being an industry sponsor, and I find it uplifting to be able to be a part of this community.
