Jackie Wells, RN
Hemophilia Nurse Coordinator / Regional Care Coordinator | Branford, FL
Prior
to giving birth to my son Kaelin, I worked for the United States
Postal Service. Kaelin, now eleven, was diagnosed with Severe Hemophilia
A Factor VIII deficiency at birth. It was shortly after his birth
that I felt becoming a nurse would benefit not only myself, but
Kaelin as well.
I have been a Registered Nurse for nearly seven
years now. I have worked seven years at the UF & Shands Teaching
Hospital and four years in the Emergency Department as a Trauma
Nurse, where I am still working PRN. I spent two years in Med-Surge
and crossed trained in the Burn Unit. I later accepted the position
of School Nurse at Branford Elementary School in Branford, Florida
so I could keep a close eye on Kaelin.
I have always wanted to be more involved with the
Hemophilia Community, and Matrix Health has given me and my family
the opportunity to fulfill this desire. I am proud to be part of
the Matrix Team!
