Especially as a woman with a severe bleeding disorder, I learned early in life that it is important to find support within the bleeding disorders community. To hear the phrases "I understand" and "I am here for you," mean a lot. When these statements are combined with the support of a great home health company, you really have something wonderful!

I am thrilled to be a part of the Matrix Team! Although I have enjoyed working as a certified medical assistant and EMT, it wasn't until I completely committed myself to helping in the bleeding disorder community that I felt like I had really found my place. One of the projects I am most proud of is Camp H.A.W.C. (Weekend camp for adults with hemophilia, ages 18 and up.) With the help of a couple of friends, I started the camp in 2004 and have been running it since. Camp H.A.W.C. gives adults a place to meet others with bleeding disorders. It's a place where the adults get to be kids again.

In the same way that I was assisted, I hope to use my skills and experience to help others in the bleeding disorder community. I am committed to Making a Difference in the lives of people with bleeding disorders by helping provide a place for adults with bleeding disorders to meet and share their life experiences and learn from one another. I also give my 100% to Matrix, which has provided me with a great opportunity to further reach out and help people get the care they want and need.
