Living with a chronic illness is not always a walk in the park. With a factor VIII deficiency, I have dealt with the HIV and Hepatitis C scare of the eighties, an inhibitor, countless trips to the hospital, bleeds, and many insurance issues. We all have our individual stories, triumphs and hardships from living with hemophilia.

Before I was born my Grandmother played a pivotal role in the formation of the hemophilia chapter here in Cincinnati, and as I grew up my mother continued to be active in our bleeding disorder community. I am thrilled that it is now my turn to have a positive influence on others who share the common bond of being touched by a bleeding disorder.
