As a child with severe hemophilia, I never dreamed I would have had the opportunities to accomplish many
of the things that I have achieved. During college, I participated in a semester abroad in the rainforests of Belize,
Central America. During that semester I did ten mile hikes, a 32 mile canoe trip, jumped off cliffs and experienced a hurricane.
Parents, doctors, nurses, homecare companies and friends were among the many people who helped and encouraged me to focus on what
I can do rather than what I can’t do. Now as an adult who lives a life far more “normal” than I ever envisioned, I am thrilled to be
a part of the Matrix team. My goal at Matrix is to help people with hemophilia minimize the negative impact it has on their life. I
especially look forward to working with families of newly diagnosed children and young adults making the transition from high school
to college or career life. I believe those are the two most challenging times that a bleeding disorder presents, and I hope to use my
skills and experience to help others in the same ways I was assisted.
