I sit here today 18 months to the day since Danny was born. He remains the unadulterated sunshine in our lives and still dares you not to laugh at him his every waking minute. He is a funny, funny little man who says “hi” to everyone (he cannot quite understand why they don’t all say “hi” back to him), and loves the Cubbies, Wiggles, Weebles, Elmo, Nemo, cars, trucks, “outside”, and playing all kinds of things. Danny is acutely aware of everything around him and always immediately notices when his mommy places a new rug on the floor – or anything anywhere else, for that matter. He soaks up everything and is talking all of the time. (He even speaks in sentences sometimes, e.g. “I see rug.”)

As most infants do, Danny enjoyed fixating on ceiling fans in his early months. What is funny to us now is that Danny demands that all ceiling fans be on upon his entering a room. He is very pleased when the fans come on. My heart still swells (and my eyes often tear up – just ask Tammy) whenever I am with him, or with his picture, or even just thinking about him. Needless to say, my heart is chronically swollen. It is staggering to note that Danny is already 18 months old – it seems like last week we were enjoying midnight feedings with him. His baby bottles have been put away, and with them, one of my loves – cuddling with Danny, him enjoying his bottle, and actually sitting still (something he has not done much of for many months.) Danny has seen the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and the Atlantic Ocean of Daytona Beach, FL with us, and he is a confirmed happy traveler. Our journey with Danny is inspiring and awe-filled – our blessings continue.
